The rest of your life IS all about SAT scores

My blog must be more popular than I thought! Look at the email I got:

I think it's sad that we haven't spoken in very many years and I am not sure what it is that I did to you, but to write a blog about me and hating me, my life and my accomplishments is just bizarre. That's just horrible and I am still left wondering, what is it I ever did to you? The answer: nothing.

I think it's just pathetic that you feel that I don't deserve the things I have accomplished when you don't even know what it is I have accomplished or how hard I have worked the past 10 years to get to where I am today.

You are right about a few things though...i have a great job, an amazing and good looking husband, an adorable daughter and a nice big house to call home, so yes, my life is good whether I deserve it or not.

Just to clear the record on a few things becuase if you are going to post things about me, then at least make sure they are true...

I was just as smart, if not smarter then you in high school, as I graduated with a 3.95 and a 1420 on my SAT's. I took every Honors and AP class offered except AP Biology. I guess you just thought I was dumb.

I went to Columbia, where did you go to school if you were so much smarter?

I have a JD and an MBA and graduated with honors on both degrees.

My new job as head of a global unit came because I have those 2 degrees, went to amazing schools and worked as a Risk manager prior to this job for one of the largest hotel operators worldwide.

I am a lawyer, as you obviously know, so if you don't take the blog down you will hear from my attorney, especially since it's in a public venue where people can read it and I am putting you on notice.

I hope that you find some peace in your obviously miserable life. As for whoever is feeding you the information about me, as we are not friends on facebook and never will be, so you can obviously see it somehow...tell them they are pathetic too.

See you at the 15 year reunion.

Yes! Can't wait to see you!

  1. SATS (and grades) are only a measure of obediance- not intelligence. DUH!

P.S. There are some pretty obvious spelling and grammatical errors in that letter... my favorite is "if not smarter then you" Bwahahaha! Then? I think you mean THAN miss smartie pants. LOL!!

I will be the first to admit, though.. you were smarter than me in high school.

  2. Ok, Ok so I can't stop laughing because I just realized that you were so obviously writing about me! I mean I'm so much smarter and prettier and skinnier and richer and thoughtfuler so it MUST be about me!!!

No but really... you aren't writing a blog about anyone but yourself. True.. there was an entry about someone else.. but if it wasn't about me I have no idea who it is about. There isn't anything that indicates who it is about. darn. Nut it is funny that this person thinks you are bizzarre enough to write an entire BLOG (not blog entry) about her. It's pretty obvious that this person never read the actually entry because at the end of it you clearly acknowledged how pathetic and petty it all is. Ha. High school. Good times. AP SPANISH was my favorite class.

  4. The email just supports the point of my original blog entry: blatant arrogance.

I am amazed that this person was able to take EVERY AP. In order to accomplish the person would have had to take AP Spanish and AP French at the SAME TIME. Whoa! Impressive. Hmmmm, but I took AP Spanish and I know the person wasn't in my class. Well, I know the number of AP classes I took is at the top of my resume and the first thing I mention on an interview.

And...I never said I hated the person in the original blog entry. I might have said something about feeling sick, but never hate. I was very careful NOT to say hate.

What else? Oh yeah, "What is it I ever did to you?" Seriously? So, you tried to be my friend? You went out of your way to see if I wanted to sit at your table or be your lab partner? You called me up all the time to ask if me to hang out or go to a party or something? And you never rolled your eyes at me or my friends? Or called us losers (outloud or in your head)? High School sh*t is so ridiculous.

  5. I guess it's all how you read it, because when I read the original entry I didn't think "hate mail" or anything like that. I actually thought of when I saw Margaret Cho perform and talk about the accomplishments of her high school peers and the way it made her feel. It made me think about being honest with yourself about jealousy, regret and frustration with yourself.

  6. Thank you, Fo! I actually thought about when MC said the people who would never gave her the time of day when she was young tried to be her friend after she was famous. MC pretended she didn't know them. Some people don't get it. It's not about being "popular." It's about respect. I didn't want to be your friend in high school and I don't want to be your friend now. Believe or not, I don't even want to be like you. The point was twofold: 1. What makes one person more "successful" than another. 2. What do you have to brag? That's disrespectful.
I think we should stop going over this. I'm over it. I was over it as soon as I published the original entry.
